On Sunday, July 31, 2011, steer your browser to facebook.com/Toyota and vote for Operation Food Search! They have a one in five chance to win a much-needed vehicle for their nutrition education outreach. Even better, they are not competing against any other St. Louis area nonprofits to win this car!
OFS is excited to be one of 500 finalists in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good contest. We are one mile closer to obtaining the vehicle we need for our Cooking Matters team, but we need your help to cross the finish line! Log onto Toyota’s facebook page on July 31st, 2011 and head to the Cars for Good tab to vote for Operation Food Search.
Our dietitians and their volunteers travel a 75-mile radius within the bi-state region with food and supplies to ensure that more than 4,000 low-income adults and children receive proper education about nutrition, food preparation and savvy food purchasing. Nutrition education is an important part of any long-term strategy to end hunger. Our Cooking Matters team needs reliable, secure transportation to safely bring hands-on classes on low-cost healthy food preparation to local communities most in need.
Encourage your friends and co-workers to vote! We promise to do our part to encourage lifelong healthy eating habits in others! Our voting day is Sunday, July 31st. Go to facebook.com/Toyota on that day and click on the Cars for Good tab to vote for Operation Food Search!
