Your Help is Requested- Individual Donor Survey

St. Louis area residents are being asked to participate in a brief survey designed to help local nonprofit organizations improve their ability to plan for the future and deliver on their missions more effectively. The survey is being conducted by the Gateway Center for Giving, the area’s association of grantmakers, and The Rome Group, a local consulting firm serving the nonprofit community.

The survey takes five minutes or less to complete. It asks for information on how much individual donors give to local charities, how many organizations they support, how they prefer to make their gifts, and how the recent economic downturn has impacted their charitable giving. The survey is available at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2012StLouisDonors.  Responses will be collected until May 25.

Results of the survey will be shared with nonprofit and grantmaker organizations at a special event on July 18 at 7:30 a.m. at Washington University’s Edison Theater.  The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required at http://www.theromegroup.com. The results will also be published on both organizations websites following the event.

The Gateway Center for Giving and The Rome Group jointly sponsor Philanthropic Landscape 2012, which is the region’s primary resource for assessing the state of the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors in the area. More than 500 people attend this event each year.

The event features a report on the findings from several surveys of nonprofit, grantmakers and individual donors that the sponsors conduct each Spring, along with a keynote address on the Future of Philanthropy and a panel discussion featuring local nonprofit and foundation leaders.
